Overview

ZeroG’s unique approach has created a new product category – the Wi-Fi I/O. The Wi-Fi I/O is the name for ZeroG's ZG2100 chip and module products, Easy-Fi® software suite, and development kits with leading host microcontroller vendors.

At the heart of ZeroG’s Wi-Fi I/O is its ZG2100 single-chip Wi-Fi transceiver, built from the ground up. The ZG2100 is a single-chip 802.11 radio supporting data rates up to 2 Mbits/s. The ZG2100 is optimized for low-duty cycle, low-power applications, featuring 4 different power modes, extremely low leakage, and a fast "wake-up" architecture. The ZG2100 contains an on-chip MAC, power amplifier, baseband, and hardware acceleration for WEP, WPA and WPA2.

ZeroG sells the ZG2100 chip as part of the ZG2100M module. The ZG2100M is a Wi-Fi module ideal for low-power, cost-sensitive applications. It can be designed into a wide variety of platforms with far fewer engineering resources as when compared to other Wi-Fi solutions in the market. The ZG2100M is also very flexible and can be used in designs ranging in complexity: simple designs without an OS or external memory are possible as more complex systems where the Wi-Fi I/O is integrated into an OS. Designers also have the option to design with an on-board PCB antenna or an external antenna. The ZG2100M module is shipped with certification from FCC, ETSI, Japan and Canadian regulatory bodies across a variety of antenna configurations.

ZeroG is partnering with leading microcontroller vendors to create development kits and a Wi-Fi solution that includes software and hardware optimized for each microcontroller-based system. These solutions include low-power certified Wi-Fi modules, production-quality drivers, and integrated IP stacks. The solutions are available in development kits that are specific to each microcontroller vendor and dedicated hardware and software solutions that allow customers to easily prototype with ZeroG technology.
